About Us

Our History

The Battle Run Fire District was formed in 1984 (Formerly, the Prospect Fire Department formed on October 24th, 1872). The district covers 34 square miles consisting of Prospect and Thompson townships, including the Village of Prospect.

Recent Events at BRFD

New TNT Extrication Tool Training - January 15th, 2026

Emergencies don’t wait for better weather, so neither do we. BRFD recently purchased a new set of TNT Rescue extrication tools (“jaws of life”). Tonight we trained on them and placed them in service. These tools replace a set of hydraulic tools that were more than 20 years old.
